About the Workshop

The Workshops and Masterclass will be held on September (25.-30.9. 2026), culminating in a Gala Concert on September 27 at Teatro Tina Di Lorenzo and on September 30 in Palazzo Nicolaci in Noto, Italy. 15 singers will be selected to participate. Apply by August 28 and gain invaluable experience by joining our exclusive Masterclasses led by distinguished lecturers Carmen Giannattasio, Paolo De Napoli, Jan Miłosz Zarzycki, Corrado Valvo, Gianluca Marcianò, Claudia Catalano, Eugene Gunko and Tetiana Zozulia.

Carmen Giannattasio – Opera Singer

Italian soprano Carmen Giannattasio launched her international career by winning both First Prize and the Audience Award at Plácido Domingo’s Operalia competition in Paris in 2002. She has since appeared at the Metropolitan Opera, the Royal Opera House, Teatro alla Scala, the Vienna State Opera and many other leading stages. Admired for the richness of her voice and her dramatic versatility, she brings young singers first-hand insight into developing roles at the highest professional level.

Jan Miłosz Zarzycki – Conductor and Artistic Director

Jan Miłosz Zarzycki is General and Artistic Director of the Witold Lutosławski Chamber Philharmonic in Łomża and a professor at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw. He has conducted most of Poland’s leading philharmonic orchestras and appeared internationally throughout Europe and the Americas. His work with young musicians draws on decades of podium experience, combining disciplined ensemble craft with close attention to musical expression.

Gianluca Marcianò – Conductor and Artistic Director

Italian conductor Gianluca Marcianò is the founder and Artistic Director of the Lerici Music Festival. He is also Principal Conductor of the Orchestra della Magna Grecia, and Artistic Director of the Al Bustan Festival and Chelsea Opera Group. He has conducted ensembles including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the Hallé, the English Chamber Orchestra and the BBC Concert Orchestra. As a mentor, he combines theatrical instinct, stylistic precision and a practical understanding of how singers and conductors shape a performance together.

Claudia Catalano – Opera Artist Manager

Claudia Catalano is an opera artist manager at Agenzia L’Opera, an Italian agency active in the international classical-music sector for three decades. The agency represents emerging and established singers, conductors, stage directors and composers, connecting their work with theatres and other professional partners. Her work centres on artist representation and the development of professional relationships with theatres and other partners across the opera sector.

Paolo De Napoli – Singing Teacher and Vocal Coach

Paolo De Napoli is an Italian singing teacher and vocal coach whose work is rooted in the traditions of Italian bel canto. He has provided vocal and repertoire coaching for singers and opera institutions in cities including Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Tokyo, Riga, Prague, Brno and Ostrava. His students include artists working at major international houses such as the Metropolitan Opera, Paris Opera, Teatro Real, Staatsoper Berlin and Glyndebourne. Among the singers who have studied with him is Czech tenor Pavel Černoch, who continues to identify De Napoli as his mentor.

Corrado Valvo – Conductor and Répétiteur

Corrado Valvo is an Italian conductor, pianist and répétiteur specialising in opera, vocal preparation and musical collaboration. He teaches vocal coaching and piano accompaniment at the Conservatorio “F. Cilea” in Reggio Calabria and has conducted orchestras across Europe, Asia and the Americas. His experience throughout the rehearsal process enables him to guide singers in phrasing, style, ensemble awareness and communication with conductors and coaches.

Eugene Gunko – Opera Singer and Vocal Coach

Ukrainian bass-baritone Eugene Gunko is an opera and concert singer, vocal coach and répétiteur, as well as a laureate of international competitions. He trained at the R. M. Glière Institute of Music and the LTL Opera Studio in Pisa, and has performed roles including Zaccaria in Nabucco, Ferrando in Il trovatore and Prince Gremin in Eugene Onegin. As founder and General Manager of the international LAVRA OPERA platform, he combines extensive stage experience with vocal training, repertoire preparation and practical career guidance for singers.

Tetiana Zozulia – Opera Director and Artistic Director

Tetiana Zozulia is a Ukrainian opera stage director and producer, and the Artistic Director and Chief Stage Director of the LAVRA OPERA platform. From 2013 to 2020, she served as Chief Director of the Ivan Kozlovsky Art and Concert Centre in Kyiv, and she has been a member of the National Union of Theatre Workers of Ukraine since 2004. With more than 400 opera productions, concerts and interdisciplinary stage projects to her name, she brings broad experience in dramaturgy, staging and the artistic development of performers.

Who are the participants

The competition is open to singers of all voice types between the ages of 18 and 38.

How to apply

To enter the first round, participants must submit two video recordings of opera arias (from two different operas, in the original language), along with a current headshot. Applications can only be submitted via the official Let’s Sing application at www.letssing.eu, starting from 31 July 2026.

Workshop procedure
